JUST SOME TIPS
When you buy or select your paint, keep in mind that you
want to paint with acrylics. All the different types of paint
have their pros and cons, and achieve different results. For
our project, acrylics are the way to go. This type of paint is
easy to work with and can be painted directly on the canvas,
so it’s perfect for any painting skill level, from beginner to
aficionado! Since acrylic paints are polymer based, they
dry quicker than other paints such as oil or watercolor. This
means you can paint several layers at a time and not have
to wait several days for it to dry.
The other pro to using acrylic paint is that you don’t need
to mix it with anything to start painting. Oils and watercolors
require something called a “medium” in order to paint with
them. For watercolors, most often you need water, and for
oils, there are various mediums such as linseed oil that can
be used to make it more viscous. The great thing about
acrylics is that they can be used straight from the tube!
