Are you a collector of buttons and bits that are just waiting
to be used in the perfect project? We at Anita Goodesign
definitely are, so we've created the perfect excuse to use
those buttons you've been hoarding! This mason jar themed
collection features 8 designs that you can use to create an
embroidered work of art that features any buttons you'd love
to showcase. This collection utilizes our confetti technique
with a dimensional twist. Instead of trapping pieces of ribbon
and fabric under a layer of vinyl or organza, we're
using buttons!
BUTTON JARS | ANITA'S EXPRESS | 171
INTRODUCTION
For these designs we used fun
textured and patterned fabrics such
as glitter vinyl and twill to make the
jars exciting and eye-catching.
We used various colored and themed
buttons covered with clear vinyl
in each of our jars so they matched
the color scheme and decorative
embroidery of the design.
This project uses a technique called
dimensional confetti. To do this
technique, you should really know
your machine and how it stitches. As
you stitch, you want to be sure your
presser foot will not hit the buttons.
If you don't feel comfortable using
buttons, you can also use yarn, ribbon,
and fabric like traditional confetti!
