Run the next machine step, which will be the placement
stitch for the first appliqué.
Place the appliqué fabric face up, covering the placement
stitches on all sides. Be sure to leave 1⁄2” seam allowance for
any portions that are on the outer edge of the block.

Continue to the next machine step, which will be the tacking
stitch for the appliqué.

Your trimmed appliqué should look something like this.
Use scissors to trim away any excess appliqué fabric. Be
sure to trim only fabric that does not make up the seam
allowance; here you will only trim the curved edge, not the
top and sides.
Repeat steps G - K to place any remaining appliqués in your
quilt block.
