Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge

The Wilderness Lodge Resort at
Walt Disney World was inspired
that can be found in our National Parks, from Yosemite to
Yellowstone. Dramatic murals and tremendous timber columns
capture the spirit and romance of the American frontier. Artist
Point has a seasonal menu with specialties from the Pacific
Northwest, but the kitchen’s signature dish is a Cedar Plank
Roasted Copper River King Salmon. Their award-winning wine
list features over 140 choices that come from either the states of
Washington or Oregon. Selections such as their three meat
combo of buffalo steak, venison loin and wild game sausage tie
in with the rustic elegance of the décor.
To the credit of Chef Michael Gonsalves and Sommelier Alvin
Burrill, the suggested food preparation and wine pairings are
well in tune with one another.

others to where we are going before and after dinner. During
these discussions, most people are surprised when we tell them
that one of our favorite places is Disney, as we reel off a list of
the various dining options available in its parks and resorts.
From Victoria and Albert’s at the Grand Floridian to the ethnic
restaurants in Epcot, Disney has something for everyone. Since
Disney is only about an hour away, the drive over and back is
well worth it.
Most recently, we dined at the Artist Point Restaurant in Disney’s
Wilderness Lodge. The warm ambience of this restaurant, like
the Lodge itself, was inspired by the venerable grand hotels
