Evening With the Chefs
The tenth anniversary of this annual fundraiser for the Ryan Wells Foundation featured some of the area’s finest chefs, who
were assisted by culinary students from local high schools and vocational culinary programs. The students worked side-by-side
with well-known chefs, such as Tyson Grant of Parkshore Grill; Mark Hyrcko of Island Way Grill; Justin Harry of TradeWinds
Resort; Doug Bebell of Mystic Fish; Scott Bebell of Guppy’s; and Chris Ponte of Cafe Ponte, to prepare and serve gourmet tastings.
The money raised is used to help improve the culinary and hospitality education in Pinellas County. Scholarships are given to
culinary students in memory of Ryan Wells, whose dream of becoming a chef was cut short when his life ended in 2005.
Mike and Carrie Wells created a foundation
in memory of their son Ryan to help fulfill
the dreams of local culinary students by
providing them with scholarships.
Chef Tyson Grant and Sous Chef Alan Garcia of
Parkshore Grill were happy to be able to donate
their time and talent to this worthy endeavor.
