SilverSpoons and Sandcastles
The VIP pre-party for the 25th Anniversary of the SilverSpoons and Sandcastles fundraiser to benefit Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful
was held in the Chase Club of the Amalie Arena. While enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres, guests watched area artists create
signature works to be sold in the silent auction at this year’s event, which is being called “Tropical Nights.”
Joe House reminisced about the time when
his wife Sue chaired the first SilverSpoons
and Sandcastles fundraiser. Artist Terry Klaaren used his skills and talent
to embellish this vase that will be sold to
benefit Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.
Lori Gieseking and her husband Bill, the
marketing director for Pepin Distributing,
chaired this popular cocktail party in
2014 and 2015, which was held at TPepin
Hospitality Centre in Tampa.

Evening Extraordinaire Goes Country
The Greater Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce’s 19th annual Evening Extraordinaire was a country casual benefit of
musical entertainment, dancing, food and dessert tastes from area restaurants, samplings of craft beers and a silent auction.
Frank Nabozny and Doug Fresh co-chaired the fundraiser they both helped sponsor at East Lake Woodlands Country Club in
Oldsmar. Proceeds will help the Chamber support Palm Harbor economic development, education and scholarships, as well as the
Palm Harbor Library’s “Raise the Roof” fund.
Roger and Kathy Johnson, who are active
throughout the Tampa Bay area’s charity
scene, donned their country-western wear
to support their town of Palm Harbor.
Carla Fresh and her husband Doug, the
Chamber’s longest standing member, who
co-chaired the benefit with Frank Nabozny,
were sponsors through their St. Mark Village.
Margaret Word Burnside was thanked by
Chamber President/CEO Connie Davis for
helping sponsor the benefit, along with
Margaret’s husband Aaron Fodiman and
their Tampa Bay Magazine.
