The new Spice Asian Fusion Restaurant in Port Richey features the 3 Ladies Martini
that is named for the three regions of Vietnam and is a tribute to that country’s culture and
tradition. It is a combination of creamy smooth orange flavors that are created by blending
dark Godiva chocolate liqueur with Grand Manier, vodka and sweetened condensed milk.
Now that is a Martini.
Besa Grill in Clearwater serves an Acai Blueberry Martini that is made with Van Gogh
Acai-Blueberry Vodka, Cointreau, Blue Curacao, fresh muddled blueberries and finished
with a wedge of lemon. It was created as one of their signature cocktails when they were
developing drinks that are made with fresh natural ingredients.
Our last featured drink is the Barrel Aged Negroni at Alfano’s Restaurant in Clearwater,
where they add a unique twist to this classic Italian drink. Usually a Negroni is comprised
of equal parts gin, sweet vermouth and Campari, served with a sliced orange. However, at
Alfano’s Restaurant, they substituted Aperol liqueur for Campari. It is slightly less bitter
and possesses more citrus notes that are truly highlighted by barrel aging. The recipe is
1 part Aperol, 1 part Aviation Gin and 1 part Cinzano Sweet Vermouth. This unique mixture
is made in small batches, then aged for two weeks at a time in small barrels. The barrel aging
that Alfano’s adds to the process makes their refined Negroni unforgettable. 9
