Golden Baton Award
The Florida Orchestra Guild St. Petersburg held its 50th annual Golden Baton Award Ceremony to honor Mark Mahaffey
for his outstanding service to the Florida Orchestra. The St. Petersburg Guild gives the orchestra financial support so that it can
pursue its mission of bringing music to the community.
Tropical Nights VIP Party
The Amalie Arena hosted a VIP Party to thank sponsors of the Tropical Nights fundraiser that benefits Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.
The evening included local artists who created pieces of art during the party that were auctioned during the later main event
to raise funds for Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful programs. This April marked the 26th annual Tropical Nights fundraiser for this
affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
This year’s fundraiser was chaired by
Jason LeBlanc and Heidi Charpentier.

WFLA’s Aaron Jacobson took a lesson from
his co-worker Jack Harris, who has been
supporting this event since its beginning.
Michael Pastreich, president and CEO of the
orchestra, and Music Director Michael Francis
(at right), thanked Mark Mahaffey for his many
contributions to the orchestra over the years.
Barbara Farquhar and her husband Tom,
chair of the orchestra’s board of directors,
were happy that the guild chose
Mark Mahaffey for this honor.
Jim Gillespie congratulated his wife Emily
on the wonderful work she did as chair
of the Golden Baton Award luncheon
to make it such a success.
