MAY/JUNE 2017 | TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE 97
In this issue, we took a tour of the
Tampa Bay area’s outdoor public
art. We began in St. Petersburg
on Snell Isle, then through the
city itself, working our way north
to Clearwater. We then crossed
the bay to Tampa and Ybor City
and ended at the now relocated
George Sugarman work that Tampa
Tribune columnist Steve Otto referred
to as “the exploding chicken.”
Tampa Bay Magazine saw the pendulum swinging in real estate as the market
changed. There were far more sellers than buyers and home prices were falling.
For sale signs were everywhere and although we knew that things would improve,
we freely admitted we didn’t know how long that would take. It ended up taking far
more time than we thought, but eventually we recovered, and we are beginning to see
the residential real estate market prosper again.
