S teve and Kathie, the owner operators
of Fairway Pizza and Sports Page
Pub, keep it simple at their expansive
establishment on Alternate U.S. 19
just north of Tampa Road in Palm Harbor.
We learned about Fairway when our
readers voted it as Best Sports Pub. This
lively restaurant is the kind of place where
you always feel like family. Everything
here is comfortable, no matter what your
age is. Even your dog is welcome. You
can eat and drink inside or outside on
their decks, watch televised sports, or not.
It is all up to you because the Fairway
staff wants to keep all their guests happy.
No special request is too much for these
service-minded professionals.
Fairway’s menu offers a full page of
starters that range from Boom Boom
Shrimp or 69-cent chicken wings to jalapeño
poppers or a great smoked fish dip. You’re
bound to find something to your liking.
and spices. If making your own selections
is too overwhelming, you can order one of
their specialty pizza creations, such as the
Southwestern with cheese, fresh tomatoes,
onions, meatballs, jalapeño peppers and
black olives, or the seafood pizza with
cheese, shrimp and crab.
You can order everything to go, and they
have party trays of popular items such as
lasagna and Greek salad that will feed up
to 24 people. With something for everyone,
Fairway Pizza is the place to go any day
of the week starting at 11 a.m. through
late-night hours Friday and Saturday until
1 a.m. Their full bar includes wines and
beers, all at the same level of reasonable
price ranges as their food offerings. 9

There are seven lunch specials that include
a salad and a drink. Or, if you prefer, there
are always burgers and sandwiches from
the grill. An array of salads of all types
is on the menu, including potato, tuna,
chicken or crab salad platters. Full dinners
arrive at the table in generous servings of
specialties such as eggplant parmesan or
fettucine Alfredo with chicken or shrimp. If
you still haven’t found what you want, try
one of their many hot oven grinders made
with ingredients you choose. Of course,
they also have soup, gyros, calzones and
a children’s menu for the little ones.
Now that we have gotten that out of
the way, let’s talk pizza. Their recipe is
northern Italian style with a medium crust,
but they will make it to your preference,
and you can choose a wholewheat crust at
no extra charge. Next, you pick your sauce
and toppings. We like their white sauce
that is a blend of sour cream, four cheeses
