Elizabeth Coachman, MD of Brooksville
has written “Indomitable Mite,” the first
comprehensive biography of
Mary J. Safford, MD, who was a physician,
surgeon, writer, feminist, progressive
reformer, indomitable adventurer and
social reformer in a 19th century world that
was dominated by men. Dr. Safford’s
former home in Tarpon Springs is open to
the public as the Safford House Museum.
Yohance Wicks, conductor of the
Clearwater Chorus Singers, announced that
the group has been selected to perform with
other choirs from throughout the country at
the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York
City on Monday, June 19th at 8 p.m.
The Clearwater Chorus Singers, an
auditioned group, which has been in
existence for over 40 years, has been the
official adult chorus of Ruth Eckerd Hall’s
Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts in
Clearwater for more than 11 years.
