Kriseman presented the
Morean Arts Center that
began in 1917 as the Art Club
of St. Petersburg with a city
proclamation to commemorate
100 years of the arts in
St. Petersburg. The ceremony
took place under the kapok
tree that was planted in 1965,
next to the Museum of Fine
Arts.
Madison Orr Hauenstein, the
executive director of the Arc Tampa Bay
Foundation, was elated that the Arc won
the “Be More” entertaining award for its
first “Wings, Wheels and Wine” event. The
“Be More” awards from WEDU, the area’s
public broadcasting television station,

Diane Wood, the arts marketing and
programs manager of Tarpon Arts for the
City of Tarpon Springs, has been chosen
to replace Kathy Monahan as the City of
Tarpon Springs Director of Cultural and
Civic Services upon Kathy’s retirement.
Wood recently announced that a free app
has been developed for smart phones and

tablets that will take visitors on
a narrated, self-guided tour of
the Greektown Historic District
in the city that will include
historic images and music. The
Greek sponge industry began
its growth here in 1905.

Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in
St. Petersburg.
Kathy Roberts, the pianist at Dunedin’s
Bon Appétit Restaurant, gave a concert
hosted by the Church of Scientology at
the Historic Clearwater Building on
Cleveland Street in honor of Women’s
History Month. Kathy has performed at
Bon Appétit in Dunedin for the last 15 years
and is known for her ability to play requests
that range from Beethoven to Beyoncé.
Wendy Leigh has become the director
of development and community relations
for the Hillel Academy Tampa. She will
be responsible for raising awareness,
increasing enrollment and spreading the
word about this historic Jewish day school
on Fletcher Avenue.
Lorna Taylor, immediate past president of
Tampa Bay Business Community for the
Arts, and Suzanna Weymouth, its executive
director, announced the Florida Orchestra’s
Music Director Michael Francis as TBBCA’s
2017 IMPACT Award winner during the
group’s Cultural Encounter reception at
the Straz Performing Arts Center in Tampa.
