Celebration of the Lightkeepers
The Lighthouse of Pinellas for the Blind and Visually Impaired held a silent auction and dinner fundraiser in Clearwater with
Fox 13 News’ Walter Allen as master of ceremonies and entertainment by Michael Amante and his band. The event is expected to
become an annual event to honor our community’s vision care physicians. During the benefit, Lighthouse’s board chair Dennis
Holthaus presented Dr. Jonathan Mines with the 2017 Outstanding Humanitarian Service Award to an ophthalmologist, and
Dr. Mark Sarno earned the Outstanding Humanitarian Service Award to an optometrist.
Dalí Museum Dinner
The annual Dalí Dinner at the museum in downtown St. Petersburg was chaired by incoming board chair Karen Lang Johnston
and celebrated the museum’s 35th anniversary. Special thanks was given to Mary Ann and Brad Morse for their continuing support
of the collection that Brad’s parents donated to the museum. Members of the Order of Salvador proudly wore their medallions
for the gourmet meal prepared by Parkshore Catering, which was served in the galleries where the guests were surrounded by
the museum’s masterpieces.
