The next step will be the tack down stitch for the base fabric.
Trim the excess base fabric as close to the tack down stitches as
possible.
Step 5 will be the stippling for the quilt block designs. We
recommend matching your thread to base fabric. Run embroidery
steps of the design until the placement stitch for the first organza
appliqué. Note: sashing blocks and mitered corners do not
have a stippling step.
In order to duplicate the look we created, be sure to use multiple
shades of matching organza fabrics for each design element of
the design. Place your first shade of organza appliqués over top
of the placement stitches as shown.
Next, place your second shade of organza fabrics over top of the
placement stitches, overlapping the organza previously placed.
The third shade of organza needs to be large enough to cover all
of the placement stitches in the design. Tape the large piece of
organza in place as shown.
We chose to use a cream organza as we liked the two shades of
green. Another option is to use a third shade of the color being
featured.
