Once tacked down, use scissors to trim away the excess
appliqué fabric.
Once trimmed, your appliqué will look something like this.

Continue with any remaining decorative embroidery steps
until the design is complete.
Remove the design from the embroidery hoop. Using a pair
of scissors, trim away as much of the excess stabilizer as
possible from the outside edges.

Now, use a seam ripper to pop the basting stitches that
were ran in the beginning. Be careful not to tear your base
fabric or catch any other decorative embroidery stitches!
Using scissors, cut out a small hole into the center and
snip into the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the hole, as
shown in pink. These clips into the material will allow it to be
pulled back and secure out of view.
