Columbus, Ohio and began a civic and political career. At the Governor’s invitation
she chaired the Ohio State Bicentennial Ball. She served as her party’s Ohio State
Vice Chair, National Committee Woman, and Delegate to the National Convention.
Additionally, she served by the Governor’s appointment on the Ohio Arts Council.
She was President of the Women’s Division of the Columbus Symphony, and as a
board member of the art gallery, the historical society and the children’s hospital.
Rosemary was one of three hundred women chosen by the President to attend the
“Women’s Role in Politics” conference at the White House.
After her marriage to C. E. Larson II at Church of the Santa Susana, Rome, Italy,
Rosemary spent much of her time in Washington, D.C., where she chaired the
Hope Ball before moving to Fort Lauderdale in the 1980s. Rosemary’s artistic
creativity and leadership skills had enabled her to chair many “balls” for favorite
charities and civic organizations, including the Columbus (Ohio) Symphony Ball, the Ambassador’s Ball, Fort Lauderdale Council Navy League
Ball (twice), Fort Lauderdale’s Freedoms Foundation Ball, and the Fort Lauderdale Philharmonic Symphony Ball. Additionally, she served on the
boards of many organizations including the Opera Society, Concert Association of Miami, Fort Lauderdale Philharmonic Society Board, and
Pyramid Society.
Rosemary was a life member of the Royal Dames for Cancer Research and the Freedoms Foundation, and had served on boards for Henderson
Mental Health, 1000+ American Cancer Society, ESU Gold Coast Opera, Chain de Rotisseurs (Boca Raton), Navy League, VOAC, and a member
of the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital Council. She was also a member of the Coral Ridge Country Club and the Coral Ridge Yacht Club.
