NANCY JEAN DAVIS
Nancy Jean Davis is chairman of the board and president
of McArthur Management Company. In this capacity,
she oversees the operations of the privately held dairy, citrus,
cattle, and commercial property interests of the Florida-based
company. In addition, Nancy is president of the J.N. McArthur
Florida organizations. She is also involved in resort development
projects; recent projects include the McArthur Golf Club in Hobe
Sound, Florida and the French Leave Resort Development in
Eleuthra, Bahamas. Nancy’s passion for the arts has led to various
leadership and philanthropic activities. She is a member of the
National Council for the Shakespeare Theatre, trustee of Florida
Grand Opera, founding director of the Miami City Ballet, trustee
of the Miami Performing Arts Center, and trustee of the National
Symphony Orchestra and the Kennedy Center International
Committee.
In addition, she is an investor in several Broadway productions
including Chicago, Spamalot, and Grey Gardens. Nancy is
a graduate of Southern Methodist University and maintains
residences in Miami and Washington, D.C.
RON and CHARLENE ESSERMAN
The Essermans have been dedicated to improving the
educational, cultural, and artistic life of Miami by their
support of Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, the Adrienne
Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Coconut Grove Playhouse,
Actors’ Playhouse, New World Symphony, Fairchild Tropical
Garden, and the Zoological Society of Florida.
Ron Esserman is president of Esserman Automotive Group—
Acura, Honda, Volkswagen, Kia, and Nissan— and chairman of
the Catamaran Company of Fort Lauderdale, Tortola in the British
Virgin Islands, and Annapolis. He is the recipient of numerous
awards for business innovation and community service, including
the Sports Illustrated Dealer of the Year Award. He is past
president and currently serves on the boards of the Arsht Center,
Arts Center Foundation, the Miami City Ballet, and the Zoological
Society of Florida. Charlene and Ron have sponsored the Bengal
tiger exhibit at Zoo Miami for the past 25+ years.
Ron serves on the board of Americans for Free International Trade,
University of Miami Citizens Board, and the University of Miami
Center for the Aging, and served as president of the South Dade
Chamber of Commerce, and the boards of Sun Trust Bank and
Baptist Hospital Foundation. He has been honored as a Founder
and Friend of the Deering Estate Foundation. Charlene and Ron
serve on the leadership council of the Brady Center to Prevent
Handgun Violence.
Charlene served on the Board of Florida Grand Opera and Actors’
Playhouse and is currently on the executive director’s leadership
council of Amnesty International and the president’s circle of
Planned Parenthood. They are both active supporters of WPBT2,
WLRN, and the American Civil Liberties Union. Music has always
been a part of their lives, and they have passed that passion on to
their children and grandchildren.
