Children and Youth Services
Consumers will not actually be given dollars to pay their
employees. Instead, the employees will be paid by Kentucky
Medicaid. Invoices for payment will be submitted to Medicaid by
the Support Broker. Once in the system, there will be no delay in
employees receiving payment.
There is the ability to blend support by using both the ABI Waiver
and CDO for different services. For example, a consumer may
choose to continue to receive personal and attendant care from
a provider paid under the ABI Waiver and to select and hire
someone to provide respite and be paid under CDO.
How do you get started? CDO is already working for Kentuckians
with brain injury. Call your current case manager or your local
Area Agency on Aging. Call: (502) 564-6930.
Long Term Care Waiver
The Long Term Care Waiver (LTC) has been submitted to Centers
for Medicaid Services (CMS). Services provided under the Long
Term Care Waiver are designed to assist and support consumers
to live independently in the community. Two hundred consumers
will be able to apply for services under the LTC. Services could
include residential, companion care, personal and attendant care,
counseling, community integration, plus services necessary to
support a consumer to live independently in their own home.
How do you get started? If you are interested in being considered
for the ABI Long Term Care Waiver, contact your support
coordinator for more details. For more information about this
program, call: (502) 564-5198.
