Advanced Vision Of Louisville receives referrals from all over Kentuckiana
for their specialty in visual rehabilitation and vision therapy—better known
as Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation—which is a subspecialty of optometry
that focuses on the variety of visual disorders that occur as a result of brain
injuries, developmental delay or other neurological disorders. After a stroke
or head injury, double vision is a common occurrence. It is vital that these
patients receive treatment as soon as possible; otherwise the overall
rehabilitation could be significantly delayed.
Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitative Therapy is a non-invasive process for
the rehabilitation of visual, perceptual, and motor disorders as they relate
to vision. Treatment can involve special therapeutic lenses (worn similar
to glasses) or may involve a more in-depth program. Advanced Vision Of
Louisville also specializes in testing and treatment for children with
special needs and various learning and behavioral challenges.
