The homeowners designed a custom seawall with
a stunning aquatic-themed bas relief, engineered to
last for 70+ years. The one-of-kind seawall is 90 feet

long, 6 feet high and used 100 tons of concrete. It
took one year to complete. Oil painter Jane Chapin
drew the coral reef artwork and then made a sample
with modeling clay. Seawall contractor Pete Sapp
was intrigued by the project and put together all
of the engineering requirements. The St. Petersburg
Times covered the successful multi-day event of the
first-ever pouring of a bas relief seawall in November
