62 TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE | JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2021
To enliven these get-togethers, you may want
to find a theme that would be fun, such as a
medieval feast where guests use their fingers
to eat instead of silverware. Have plenty of
paper napkins. It can be fun. Start by serving a
cold soup, and then move to a salad of romaine
lettuce leaves that are left whole and dipped in
a dressing. Fried chicken and French fries are a
natural for the entrée, and donuts or ice cream
bars will make a great dessert for this fun meal.
Another idea to make your party special is
to have guests participate in the preparation of
the meal. Someone can bring an hors d’oeuvre,
another guest, the soup. That way, your guests
will feel more a part of the evening by sharing
their favorite tastes, recipes and kitchen
experiences.
