The Order of Salvador
The Order of Salvador is a chivalric order based on the historic traditions, pomp and formalities that were admired by artist
Salvador Dalí. The Dalí Museum opened in 1982 in St. Petersburg to house the collection of Dalí’s masterpieces, which were donated
by Eleanor and Reynolds Morse. The Order of Salvador was initiated by Eleanor Morse that same year as a way to recognize and
honor the museum’s supporters. The order annually presents the Morse Award to a deserving member during a cocktail reception
held at the museum. Of necessity, this year’s recipient, Lorna Taylor, received her honor during a virtual ceremonial presentation.
Tom James, who serves as the Order of
Salvador’s grand chancellor and is a Dalí
Museum vice chair, has been a staunch
supporter of and leader at the internationally
recognized museum since its inception.
Lorna Taylor, president and CEO of Premiere
Eye Care of St. Petersburg and a member of
the Dalí Museum’s board of directors, was
this year’s recipient of the museum’s Order
of Salvador’s Morse Award.
Brad Morse, grand master of the Order of
Salvador, and his wife Mary Ann, its grand
registrar, continue to support the Dalí
Museum as board members with their own
donations, leadership, and continuation of
the Morse Award.

Faces of Philanthropy 2020, the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) in Tampa’s fourth annual gala and auction, was a
small, socially distanced cocktail reception and seated dinner held at Tampa’s Oxford Exchange. The benefit to celebrate the museum’s
members, donors and photographic collectors and to help fund its exhibitions and educational programs featured entertainment by the
Tampa City Ballet, an awards ceremony conducted by Zora Carrier, Ph.D., and a live auction by Blake Kennedy. FMoPA, one of only ten
photographic arts museums in the United States, is dedicated to presenting contemporary life and culture, as seen through a camera lens.
It collects, preserves and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally recognized photographic artists.
Diane Rotensteiwen and Florida Museum
of Photographic Arts board member Fraser
Himes, Esq. were impressed with the gala’s
pre-dinner performance by Tampa City
Ballet.
Zora Carrier, Ph.D., executive director of
the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts,
donated a private chef dinner, created by her
for the benefit’s live auction.
Janet and Mike Starkey attended the gala
to represent the museum’s Foundation
Supporter of the Year, the Community
Foundation of Tampa Bay, where he is the
