25 YEARS AGO - January/February 1996
Brandon, which was founded in 1874, was becoming
one of the fastest growing towns in Tampa Bay in the mid-
1990s with its new mall. The thriving Greater Brandon
area continues to grow. John Brandon founded the town
in 1858, when he bought 40 acres of land in what was then
called New Hope.
