Angela and Mark Wilson

Two-time Emmy Award-winning anchorman Mark Wilson
and his wife Angela, a licensed private investigator
and fitness trainer, have been married for 24 years and
have two daughters. Mark anchors the 6 and 10 o’clock news
weeknights on FOX-13. Since 1997, he has brought Tampa Bay
area viewers some of the biggest stories from the front lines
– Ground Zero in the aftermath of the terror attacks, the War in
Iraq, reporting from Baghdad; and an exclusive interview with
President Barack Obama on the south lawn of the White House.
The couple’s favorite charities are The Wilson Family
Foundation, of which Mark is a founding board member,
along with the Children’s Dream Fund, Wheelchairs 4 Kids
and Academy Prep. Angela helps coordinate The Wilson
Family Foundation’s events and is an active supporter
and executive committee member of the Crohn’s & Colitis
Foundation of Central Florida.
What could you talk about for hours?
Angela: Health and fitness, our daughters and our golden retrievers
Mark: My daughters, rock music and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail
What is your favorite word?
Angela: Inspiration
Mark: Lollygag
What do you do on your day off?
Angela: Our boat is where I love to be. Otherwise, we enjoy being
home with our girls and our golden retrievers.
Mark: Definitely on the boat, but if the weather’s not cooperating,
I usually have a guitar in my hands.
What are you famous for?
Angela: Among my family and close friends, I would have to
say my chili.
Mark: My grilled cheese sandwiches
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Angela: Be kind to everyone. You never know what they may
be going through.
Mark: Never stop expecting the very best out of yourself and
those around you.
Why do you do what you do?
Angela: Helping people when they are at a difficult time in their
life is quite rewarding.
Mark: Much of our coverage can be rewarding and inspiring,
as many of our stories help people – some stories change lives.

Who is your role model?
Angela: My parents.
Mark: Same. Both couples have been married more than 50 years.
What don’t people know about you?
Angela: That I’m a private investigator.
Mark: I’m actually pretty quiet and shy.
What are your favorite words of wisdom?
Angela: You make a living by what you get, you make a life by
what you give.
Mark: People will forget what you did, they’ll forget what you
said, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.
What is your motto?
Angela: Love like you’ve never been hurt, work like you don’t
need the money and dance like nobody’s watching.
Mark: Live. Laugh. Love. Rock.
How do you think other people would describe you?
Angela: Quiet, kind, giving, strong-willed with a little spark
Mark: Driven, compassionate and proud
What do you wish you could do?
Angela: Play the piano
Mark: Dance. When I dance, people hurt themselves laughing.

Angela: Giving back
Mark: Spending time with the ones you love

Angela: Not completing a project from start to finish.
Mark: Bad grammar. Everyone should know the difference
between you’re and your.
What is your most treasured possession?
Angela: My family

What did you want to be when you were younger?
Angela: Doctor
Mark: Pilot
Who would you most like to meet?
Angela: Nanny, my great grandmother. My mom always told
me what an amazing person she was.
