THE LOOP FRINGE
PROCESS
Each design features a bundle of flowers. Some are
constructed from standard appliqués and others are
purely embroidered. All 15 designs are meant to be
stitched out first, and fringed later. The bobbin stitches
under the wide satins are digitized to be clipped in order
to release the looped threads on the front. Don’t worry!
The purpose of the skinnier satin is to anchor one end of
the wide satin to the design, leaving the loop fringe to frill
about without unraveling.
Our loop fringe designs are characterized
by two types of satin stitches, wide satin
stitches that create the unique loop fringe,
and their skinnier satin stitch that anchors one
end of the loops permanently to the design.
Since we will be clipping the wide satin stitches
bobbin threads to release the looped fringe
on the front, you will want to make sure the
bobbin tension on your machine is allowing
the bobbin stitches to be clearly seen.
Finally, a pair of tweezers work great to brush
or fluff out the threads, resulting in a unique
loop fringe on the front of the design.
