While many people know that the Cape
Haze Peninsula has more than a handful
of golf courses – including the Pete Dye
course at The Gasparilla Inn & Club – many people
don’t know that at the very southern tip of our little
peninsula in paradise there is a hidden jewel of a
course, a Tom Fazio course at that, and its name is
Coral Creek Club.
The Coral Creek Club was created two decades
ago, with the 211-acre golf course created by the
world-famous Tom Fazio staff. Fazio has said that
Coral Creek is “one of my favorite golf courses in
the nation, because of its unique location and setting.”
This season there are some new faces at the Coral
Creek Club, including two by the names of Thomas
Noyes, the club’s new general manager, and Alan
Pope, Coral Creek Club’s new membership director.
Out of the seven senior staff members, four are new,
including Clubhouse Manager Alex Delcamp and
Erin Stevens, the club’s director of agronomy. Pope
came to the area in November of last year, from
Concession Golf Club in Sarasota, and Noyes came
to Coral Creek in June of last year from Plantation
Golf & Country Club in Venice.
The four new members of the senior staff join
Controller Angie Mills, Chef Tim Fain and PGA Head
Professional Ken Raynor.
“We have mixed some new blood with the old
blood, and we’re working hard to get things in the
direction that we want to go,” Noyes said. “I feel like
Coral Creek Club has always been a secret, and I
don’t want it to be. I want people who are
considering moving to South Carolina, Palm Beach,
Naples or Sanibel to include Coral Creek in their
decision tree.”
