Extensive renovations of the building
and gardens were carried out in
2013, funded by donors to the Library
Foundation and designed by Seibert
Architects of Sarasota.
The Johann Fust Library Foundation
owns and maintains the award-
winning buildings and the gardens. The
Foundation provides adult literary
programs and, thanks to the
generosity of donors, many literary
events are offered at no charge to the
public. The Lee County Library
System provides library services,
including children’s programming,
within the beautiful surroundings.
The Fust Library is also connected
with the online Lee County Library
System, which means that books from
anywhere in Lee County (provided
they are able to be checked out) are
available to Fust patrons. That means if
you can’t fi nd what you’re looking for
on the shelves at our library, you can
access it through other means.
If you’ve never been to the “Fust, “
as it is known around the island, let us
introduce you to one of the best little
libraries and most beautiful gardens
you will ever fi nd.
