VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURE,
RELIGIOUS ROOTS
Ocean Grove is a unique seaside town on the National Register of
Historic Places and the nation’s largest assemblage of Victorian
architecture. Visitors and locals enjoy the beach, the old-fashioned
oceanfront boardwalk and Main Avenue shops and outdoor
cafés. What began in 1869 as a Victorian-era camp meeting site
has become one of the Jersey Shore’s finest year-round seaside
resorts. Known as the “Jewel of the Jersey Shore,” Ocean Grove’s
one square mile offers pristine beaches, tree-lined streets, serene
boardwalk and parks, unique eateries, outstanding inns and an
eclectic shopping district.
Ocean Grove kicks off each summer by hosting over 300 vendors
at the Chamber of Commerce’s Giant Spring Flea Market in June
and closes the season with the Giant Fall Flea Market in September.
A short stroll from lively entertainment hub Asbury Park, Ocean
Grove is a quieter, family friendly complement to Asbury’s bustling
downtown. It is easily accessible by NJ TRANSIT’s North Jersey
Coast Line to the Asbury Park train station.
