Chef Is Making Waves on the
Jersey Shore Dining Scene

Celebrity chef David Burke is back! The New Jersey native
and internationally acclaimed chef has returned to the
Jersey Shore with two beachfront restaurants—DRIFTHOUSE
by David Burke and Nauti Bar by David Burke, both located
on Driftwood Cabana Club property.
DRIFTHOUSE is open year-round to the public, serving
Burke’s innovative, delicious modern American fare in
the elegant, beach-casual, full-service restaurant. The
restaurant, offering stunning views of the ocean and sunsets
over the Shrewsbury River, was named Best New Restaurant
by NJ Monthly and Star Ledger food critics. It is open for
dinner Tuesday through Sunday and for Sunday brunch.
Nauti Bar, located directly on the beach only steps from
the pounding surf, is open every day except Tuesday from
October through May. (During the summer months the beach
bar returns to the use of members of Driftwood Cabana
Club, owned and operated by the Stavola family since 1957.)
Accommodations for private party events are available at
both restaurants.
On the DRIFTHOUSE menu are Burke’s signature innovative
presentations, such as Bacon on a Clothesline, Pastrami
Salmon and Salt Dry-Aged Prime Steaks, which use Burke’s
own U.S. patented dry-aging process. Embracing the
magnificent ocean location, Burke has installed custommade
lobster and oyster saltwater tanks to serve guests the
freshest seafood available. His menus also feature many
vegetarian dishes, wines from the world’s most notable
vineyards, artisan cocktails and beers from local breweries.
“I always imagined that no matter where in the world
my culinary adventures and successes led me, I would
someday return to my roots here at the Jersey Shore,” said
Burke. “I am a Shore boy at heart—a former lifeguard, a
beach lover—and always dreamed I would come back, not
necessarily to retire, but to live and work and renew my
connection to this special place.”
