American Stage
in the Park
In celebration of its 30th Anniversary of
producing musicals in the park, American
Stage will present In The Heights from
April 22nd through May 17th on Wednesdays
through Sundays at 8 PM at Demen’s
Landing Park in St. Petersburg. This show,
which was the winner of the 2008 Tony
Award for “Best Musical” and Grammy
for “Best Broadway Show Album,” is
about chasing your dreams and finding a
new home. It takes place in New York’s
Washington Heights neighborhood, a
community on the brink of change. Gates
open at six o’clock for those who wish to
picnic on the lawn, and reserved chair
seating is also available. Pets in the Park
nights will be April 26th and May 10th.
The Gala Under the Stars, American
Stage’s annual fundraiser, will be held on
Friday, April 24th at Demen’s Landing

This spring tradition at the Museum
of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg will have
nearly 60 floral designers creating
floral masterpieces inspired by artworks
throughout the Museum. The show
will open to the public on Friday,
March 13th and continue through
Monday, March 16th. Admission to
Art in Bloom includes the Museum’s
50th Anniversary exhibit, “Monet
to Matisse – On the French Coast,”
as well as “Life’s a Beach, Photographs
byMartin Parr” and “African American

Evening With the Chefs
This annual fundraiser for the Ryan Wells Foundation features chefs from Tampa Bay
resorts and restaurants working with culinary students from Pinellas County schools to
create gourmet cuisine tastings. The event will be held on Saturday, May 16th at the
Sheraton Sand Key in Clearwater Beach, where guests will enjoy libations, musical
entertainment, auctions and a presentation of awards. The proceeds benefit the culinary
arts and hospitality education of Pinellas County students in memory of the late Ryan
Wells, an aspiring chef whose dreams are now being fulfilled by others. For tickets, or to
