Krewe du Bon Coeur opened its Mardi Gras celebration
with its annual pageant and Ball January 18 at the Habibi
Shrine Center. This year’s theme was The Phantom of the
Opera. Master of Ceremonies Dale Mann greeted all those in
attendance.
Captain Dustan Abshire, representing the Phantom from
the Masque of the Red Death, appeared out of the fog, leaving
a single rose at the King and Queen tables. Dustan is a
graduate of Barbe High School, McNeese State University
and Mississippi College School of Law. He is a former Calcasieu
Parish Sheriff ’s Deputy and Prosecutor with Calcasieu
Parish District Attorney’s office. Dustan currently operates
his law practice, Abshire Law Firm in Lake Charles. He has
been on the Krewe board of directors for five years and was a
Duke in 2014.
Presentation began following the traditional blowing of the
Captain’s whistle.
This year, Krewe du Bon
Coeur proudly introduced
two beautiful debutantes. Miss
Keli Paige Perry is the daughter
of Krewe Members Justin and Laura
Perry. She is a 2019 Summa Cum
Laude graduate of Sulphur High School.
She is now studying cosmetology at Stage
One Hair School. Miss Megan Paige Alexander

is the daughter of Krewe Members Kent and
Rebecca Vincent. Megan is a 2019 graduate of Sulphur
High School. She was in Dual Enrollment and Advanced
Placement Classes, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a
4.17 GPA as well as State Certification as a Certified Nursing
Assistant. She received the John McNeese Scholarship to attend
McNeese State University. She is currently pursuing her
Bachelor of Science degree concentrating in Pre-Med and a
minor in Chemistry.
Next, the 2020 Royal Court was revealed. First presented
were Duke Josh Bourque and Duchess Stephanie Briscoe
representing the Crystal Chandelier. Duchess Stephanie is a
resident of Moss Bluff where she lives with her husband Billy.
She is a graduate of Crowley High School and Louisiana
Technical College, Acadian Campus. She received an applied
associate degree in office systems and accounting technology.
God and family mean everything to her. Duke Josh is a
resident of Lake Charles, where he lives with his wife, Lynn,
former Queen. Duke Josh and Lynn have two sons, Gabe and
Chandler Bourque. He attended McNeese State University
and is an alumni of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He is employed
at Billy Navarre Chevrolet, Sulphur. Currently, he is serving
on the South Lake Charles Little League board.
The Duke and Duchess

LeBlanc and Luke Finley.
Duchess Anne resides in Fenton
with her husband, Kevin.
She is a proud graduate of
Lacassine High and has two
sons. She has been employed
at Cameron LNG in Hackberry
for the past 12 years in
procurement and contracts.
Duke Luke resides in Dequincy
with his wife Tiffanie. He is a
graduate of McNeese State University
with a bachelor’s degree
in electrical engineering. He is
employed with Cheniere LNG
