Krewe de la Louisiane celebrated
their 18th anniversary Ball on Saturday,
February 15, at the West Cal
Event Center in Sulphur. It was a
formal event where the Krewe jesters
provided entertainment for their
guests while dressed as Navy sailors.
The 2020 Royal Court wore costumes
in the nautical theme of “Anchors
Aweigh.”
The celebration began with Ball
Captain John Thomson as Captain
Hook. After retiring as a starting
pitcher in the major leagues, he now
lives in Carlyss. Traveling, skiing and
spending time with friends are a few
of his hobbies. He serves as a board
member of our Krewe and is a member
of our Gumbo Cook-off team.
Duchess Mary Ann is Trina
McDaniel. She is also a Sulphur native
who has worked at the Sulphur
Police Department in communications
for 14 years. She serves on the
hostage negotiation team and Cops
for Cribs. Her legal secretary degree
was earned at Clark Community College.
Dancing, singing and spending
time with friends and family are
her passion. She has one son and one
granddaughter.

represented Duke Maui and Duchess
Moana. She is a cosmetologist
from Lake Charles and he is a business
owner from Grand Lake. Cooking,
crafting and spending time with
family and friends are near and dear
to her heart. He loves to hunt, fish
and hang out with friends. They both
cheer on LSU football.
Duke Deep Sea Diver is Bobby
Guidry. After spending 20 years in
the medical field, he is now an insurance
agent with the Firm of Louisiana
in Lake Charles. He holds several degrees
and certifications from McNeese
State University, serves as the treasurer
for the Lake Charles Elite Lions
Club, is a Krewe board member and
is the Krewe DJ. Exercising, boating,
watching football and working part
