Cathy Kurth graduated from DeQuincy High School and McNeese State
University where she helped organize and served as the first Captain of the
Cowgirl Kickers. She opened her dance studio in Moss Bluff 33 years ago
and has taught more than 2,000 students over that time. Like her character
“Cher,” Cathy is also a proud member of the Cherokee Tribe and her Indian

and 12 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and spending time with
their family and friends.
Cathy and Mike became members in 1987 and treasure the friendships
they have formed from their involvement with the Krewe. They have served
as pageant directors and have been on Court many times. They are honored
to serve as the 40th King and Queen of Krewe du Grande Bois.
