Run the folding stitch to secure the strip in place.

Then, run the tacking stitch to finish the piece of folded fabric
border.

Trim away the excess fabric that is on the right and left edges
within the quilt block square, leaving a 1⁄2” seam allowance
on the top and bottom of the block.
Next, fold the fabric strip up and over the line, pulling the
fabric taut and taping in place to secure.
Repeat steps Q - U for the second piece of folded fabric,
which will be on the bottom of the block as shown here.
Your folded fabric borders should currently look something
like this.
