Wheel-thrown Stoneware
Local potter Ira Burhans created this one-of-a-kind
wheel-thrown stoneware teapot. It is 11.25 inches by
6 inches by 9 inches and features a hand-carved leaf/
diamond pattern. Ira uses a glaze designed to run over
the carved surface, which accentuates the carving. The
teapot is both decorative and functional for steeping
and serving tea. It is available for $165 from Clay
and Paper Gallery of Art, 362 Main St. in Dunedin,
(727) 736-0934.
