Highlights from Our Past Issues
25 YEARS AGO - November/December 1995
1995 was the sixth year for the Suncoast Dixeland Jazz Classic
on Clearwater’s Sand Key. The event began with a traditional
parade led by the legendary Black Cat Jazz Band headed by Joan
Dragon. The rest of the weekend was filled with jazz musicians.
COVID-19 has caused this year’s annual musical celebration to
go virtual, and the now renamed Suncoast Jazz Festival is set for
November 19-21 in 2021. For more information, call (727) 248-9441,
or visit suncoastjazzfestival.com.
This issue featured an article about Eugen Fuhrmann, the owner and operator of the
famed Lobster Pot Restaurants on the British isle of Bermuda and later Redington Shores,
and his chef partners at E&E Stakeout Grill in Belleair Bluffs, Guppy’s on Indian Rocks
Beach and Mystic Fish Seafood Grill in Palm Harbor. Every year these fine restaurants are
selected “Best Of” winners in the annual vote by Tampa Bay Magazine readers. Each of these
restaurants combines creative cuisine with attentive service in a comfortable atmosphere,
while the chefs are still pleasing diners with their culinary magic.
