JULY/AUGUST 2016
| TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE 45
September/
October 2000
- This issue with its 3-D
cover came with a pair
of red and blue lensed
glasses that enabled
readers to experience
the 3-D effects we
used throughout the
magazine.
Over our thirty years of
publishing, we have continued
to grow and are proud to claim
a current readership of over
350,000 people per issue. Some
wonder what our secret is,
while others credit our success
to the growth of the Tampa Bay
area. Certainly the area’s growth
has aided in our success; but, as
for a secret, there is none. We are
doing exactly what we set out
to do thirty years ago when we
announced that we would offer
our readers useful, entertaining
and interesting information
about the people who live in
and visit this growing metropolitan
area.
We have been pleased to
discover that our readers not
only enjoy Tampa Bay Magazine
for the information it contains
but that they also look forward
to its advertisements. We also
have learned over the years that
our growing circulation and
expanded readership are due
to a myriad of factors, from our
artful covers to our colorful
editorial and our ability to
guide our readers to dependable,
trustworthy businesses.
Who knew? We didn’t, when we
began in 1986, but now we
understand why our refusal
to accept advertising from
anyone that we believe may not
meet our readers’ needs and
expectations was one of the best
decisions we have made over
January/February 2001 - Artist Jim Warren’s painting the years.
entitled You Are What You Read fascinates us every time we look at it.
