Clearwater Jazz Holiday Poster
The unveiling of the poster for the 2016 Clearwater Jazz Holiday
is always a gala event. For its 37th poster, Jazz Holiday selected
a work created by St. Petersburg resident Allison “Al” Hardin,
whose painting uses bright colors to capture the musical theme
of this project. Her design image will be used on tee shirts and
other promotional items for this year’s Jazz Holiday and is sure
to become one of the most popular of these collectable posters.

This year, the Sugar Sand Festival on Clearwater Beach was held under a 21,000
square-foot tent, where thousands went to see musically-themed sand sculptures
that were created by internationally recognized sand sculptors. This fourth annual
showcase of sculptures made from over 1,000 tons of sand, from what many have
named “The World’s Best Beach,” continued for ten days. It included a variety of
exciting special events that ranged from fireworks, musical and sand sculpting
demonstrations to sunset festivals and dinner in sand venues. With the success
of this year’s Festival in mind, the event’s organizer, Jennifer Chandler, is already
planning next year’s extravaganza.
