California Closets transformed an inefficient garage into an
effective storage and work area by designing and installing
cabinets that make organization easy and attractive.
Today, custom-built cabinets have replaced these earlier
storage concepts. They have transformed from being
simply practical to being part of the décor, as they enhance
a room’s look. Emphasis is often placed on the type of
wood being used and its finish. A wide variety of knobs
and handles, known as “pulls,” are now available. Interior
lighting is being used for cabinets with open fronts or
glass doors to highlight their contents.
Even though the custom-built cabinets in our homes
often reflect our personalities and lifestyles, we still want
them to be functional and efficient so that they maximize
our storage space and organizational needs. With all the
new ideas that have developed over the years for custom
cabinets, their purpose remains basically the same — the
place where we keep our “stuff.” 9
