emphasize a negative space, it needs a lot of
detail. Each letter is not actually outlined, but the
density of the line work gives it the appearance of
a hard outline, and makes the letters easy to see.

Simply back thin fabric with fusible interfacing
like Pellon 860 Ultra Weft, or if you want to stitch
onto a shirt you can also use Dream Weave by
Floriani to prevent the threads from irritating

You can change up the color pallet on solid
fabrics to come up with lots of different color
combinations and applications.
