Now that you’ve learned how we lay out the Combination
Squares, let’s learn how to sew them together! Begin by
selecting a Combination Square to incorporate to your
quilt. Here, we are using the first Combination Square
provided in this section.

Start by placing the 4x8 block face to face with the 8x8
block, lining up the squaring stitches on the back. Once
lined up, use pins to hold the blocks together and transfer
them to your sewing machine.
In this example, we’ll begin by sewing together the quilt
blocks within the Blue square.

Stitching slightly inside the squaring stitch, use a straight
stitch to sew the blocks together, removing the pins as you
sew.
