In Alhambra, Chuck Boux
drew upon his world
travels in developing his
patterns and imagery.
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2018 | TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE 127
Boux has now turned to casting glass in order to
bring his visions to life. Although his studio has been
home to many notable artists casting glass, such as
Marlene Rose, Susan Gott, and Trish Duggan, Boux has
only recently begun to delve into the process himself.
He credits his team for their assistance in the process.
It includes Susan and Kevin Brady, who build his hightemperature
molds, and the Bronze Art Foundry of
Sarasota, which contributes the bronze accents.
When speaking about the future of the arts and glass
in the Tampa Bay area, Boux says, “The groundwork
has been laid, and we now have a fertile layer for glass
arts to grow.” A firm believer in tourism as a driving
economic force, Boux supports the industry and sees
the new Imagine Museum as a draw for both tourists
and locals and as a hub for glass activity. 9
