FOR ALL
Plays a Plenty
Many of our local theaters are ready
to fulfill your entertainment
dreams as the 2018-19 season
begins. One of the best ways
to ensure that you will see these shows is to
purchase season tickets. By doing so, you will
save money and plan to go at a specific date in
the future. Don’t worry if you end up with a
conflict because you can either exchange your
tickets at most theaters or give them to a friend
to go in your place. The following theaters are
among those that offer season ticket packages:
Eight O’Clock Theatre
At the Eight O’Clock Theatre, the resident
theater company of the Central Park Performing
Arts Center in Largo, the season starts on
November 2-11 with The Hunchback of Notre
Dame with music by Alan Menken (Beauty and
the Beast) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin).
The play retells Victor Hugo’s epic story of love
and acceptance. From March 1-17 is Anything
Goes, the Cole Porter musical about a shipboard
ocean crossing that has some of the best songs
ever written, such as “Let’s Misbehave,” “I
Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,”
and “Anything Goes.” Then comes Avenue
Q and its witty puppets, which earned Best
Musical, Best Score and Best Book at the Tony
Awards. It will fill the stage from May 10-19.
Eight O’Clock Theatre’s season ends with Mel
Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, which plays from
July 12-21 featuring songs such as “Puttin’ on
the Ritz” and “The Transylvania Mania,” which
will have you rolling in the aisles. Eight O’ Clock Theatre’s production of The Hunchback of
Notre Dame will be from November 2-11 at the Central
Park Performing Arts Center in Largo.
