Now use a seam ripper on the remaining basting (green)
stitches anchoring the fabric on the left and right sides. DO
NOT remove the tacking stitches (black), as they are needed
for the channel.

You should now have two tabs, one on each side of the
bag. Fold these tabs of fabric inwards and use a piece
of embroidery tape to secure them. NOTE: It’s actually
beneficial for the tape to be directly under the foot to
prevent it from scooping up either of the tabs as it passes!
Run the folding stitch. It should look something like this. Any
excess tape can be removed at this point.
Use a pair of appliqué scissors to trim inwards on the
base fabric, cutting into the material on the left and right,
STOPPING at the corner of the basting stitches.
