To create a Tropical Coaster, gather your needed materials,
to include the back cork fabric and binding fabric as well as
some pins.
Line up the two squares, then place a pin in each of the 4
corners at the tacking stitch line to secure the blocks.
Transfer the blocks to your sewing machine. Using a clear
or matching thread, drop your needle at the first corner. Sew
straight along the tacking stitch line, pivoting at each corner
to continue sewing around all 4 sides. Backstitch to secure.
Sew at a 1⁄2” seam allowance across the strip until you reach
a corner. With the needle down, pivot the block and sew
towards the corner.
Now, take your binding strip and place it right side facing
down along one edge of the block. Fold the corner down at
a 45° angle to create a triangle, then pin in place.
Cut a piece of cork fabric to the same size as your block’s
seam allowance and lay it right side facing down. Then, place
your Jungle Jumble block over top, right side facing up.
