Run the tacking stitch for the base fabric in a coordinating
thread.

Now, use a pair of curved tip scissors to carefully snip into
the main circle shape. We will need to trim away the excess
fabric circle in the center, leaving the remaining fabric as is.
Once trimmed, the design will look like this.

Now, run the placement stitch for the center circle appliqué. Take a piece of appliqué fabric and place it right side facing
up over the placement stitch circle.
Take a piece of base fabric and place it right side facing up
over the block. You will want to ensure your base fabric is
large enough for a 1⁄2” seam allowance on all sides.
