Ennger used points to lock himself into the Playoffs, and
he got a free pass to the second round with a victory at Las
Vegas. That win came when race leader Brett Moftt ran
out of gas during the third overtime restart.
Last season was only the second in which NASCAR
had crowned a regular-season Champion in all three
national Series.
ThorSport, the team based in Sandusky, Ohio, expects
to be competitive on a weekly basis. Three-time Series
Champion, Crafton, also calls ThorSport home.
The move to ThorSport was “a dream come true,”
Ennger said. With two full seasons under his belt, that
feeling remains, but so does a desire to return to the
winner’s The momentum from a strong nish to the 2019 season
led by crew chief Jeff
Hensley, needs to get off to a strong start. Ennger
nished eighth or better in eight
of his nal 13 starts,
including top-ve results at the
nal two races at
Phoenix and Homestead.
Hensley is a veteran signal-caller, having worked with a
variety of drivers and manufacturers in
the NASCAR xnity and
Truck Series since 1987, where he has
a combined 25 victories.
In 1990, he was the Busch Series’ Championship-winning
crew chief for driver Chuck Bown and he led Mike Skinner
to second in the NCWTS in 1997.
Hensley has also made the trip to the winner’s circle with
some of the Truck Series’ top drivers, such as four-time
Series champ and Hall of Famer Ron Hornaday Jr. and
former Champions Skinner and Johnny Sauter.
“I’m proud of the effort that everyone put in – everyone
really dug deep all year,” Ennger said. “We know the areas
we have to work on. There’s no one big area that we’re
down on, we just need to step it up in a few places and we’ll
be a contender.”
