After the folding stitch, fold the fabric until it’s taut against the
folding stitch, then run the tacking stitch.
Once you have trimmed away the excess fabric, repeat steps
H through L for the remaining folded fabric steps.
Remove the block from the hoop and use a ruler and rotary
cutter to trim away the excess fabric. Leave at least 1/2” seam
allowance.
After the tacking stitch, trim away the excess fabric. This will
prevent bulkiness in later folded fabric steps.
Once you have finished the folded fabric borders, the block
will look something like this.
The block is now complete and ready for piecing.
