I’m also an avid gamer. Gaming was a bonding experience for my
father, brothers and myself when I was growing up. We would break
out my dad’s old Atari and play Pitfall, or we would convince him to
try out “newer” games, like Need for Speed, on our Playstation.
I’ve continued gaming even as I’ve gotten older, and that love for
games and community has led to
a vast network of friends across
several different countries, some
of which I’ve had the pleasure of
meeting in person.
I’ve also taken up mountain
biking with my husband in the
last two years, and we’ve hit
a lot of trails in and around
Charlotte. It has been a bit
of a steep learning curve for
someone who is used to sitting behind a desk, but there’s nothing
quite as exhilarating as hurtling down a trail on just two wheels.
What inspires you most when getting creative with other
mediums outside of the digital realm? The natural world is a
huge inspiration to me. Most of my work is centered around things
that I have seen and experienced in nature. I enjoy the challenge
of translating the things I see into different mediums. My sweet
fur child, Tasha, is also a large influencer on my art, specifically my

front of the camera. Lucky, our
grouchy-yet-loveable old lady
cat, will occasionally allow me
to snap a photo of her. But only
in exchange for treats, of course.
Are there any current
design trends you are a
fan of, or anything you
wish to see more of in
the graphics world? Recently the 80’s have been making
a comeback within the design world. The bold patterns and
colors of the era are fun, exciting and have a wonderful sense
of nostalgia. I’m looking forward to incorporating some of
