To begin your face file, load the design you are wanting to stitch,
then hoop a piece of No Show mesh to fit your hoop. Run the
first step in the design, which will be a placement stitch for the
batting. For our pillow, we are stitching design SHP7.
Lay a piece of batting over the placement stitches, being sure to
cover the stitches on all sides.

Now, run the tacking stitch for the batting. Use a pair of scissors to trim away the excess batting, cutting
close to the tacking stitches.

Run the next step in the design, which will be a placement stitch
for the first appliqué.
Take your first appliqué fabric and place it right side up over the
placement stitches, being sure to leave at least a 1⁄2” of fabric for
your seam allowance extending outside the batting.
